PROTECT IP Act??? You don’t live in China! Or do you?

I may live in China and be forced to live behind The Great Firewall of China because I made the choice to come and live in this country I now call home. But that doesn’t mean I have not nor ever will stop trying to punch a hole in the Great Firewall to get out to see what is going on in the world.

Here’s the difference between me and you. I made the choice to be censored by moving to this country.

You didn’t.

You live in a country that was built on the rights and freedoms that the rest of the world is envious of. But this act? This simple act of people telling you what you can and cannot see and say… You do not live in China. So don’t sit down and take this Mao sized ass ramming that they are wanting to give you.

I beleive in having information at your finger tips and having a voice and being able to use that voice to say what is on your mind. That is not possible here. The Propaganda Office in Beijing is threatening to take away the anonymous voice of the people right at this moment while the American government is attempting to silence the people as well.

And unfortunately, it all looks like America is trying to become a “Little China” by tightening it’s version of the Iron Fist.

This all being said, I do beleive that the idea of plagiarism is a very naughty thing. And if this was just about stopping plagiarism, I’d be all for it. But it is not just about stopping piracy. It is about sooo much more!!!

If you choose to live in a country where censorship happens… that is one thing.

I live in China. YOU DON’T!!!!!

Speaking on “Life Behind the Wall

I don’t say this unless I am giving away free stuff on the blog… but Tweet this, Like this, Share this all you can… If you like reading erotica, watching porn, watching cute little panda bears dance to music. If you like watching students from around the world show off their talent by using American made music. If you like MP3/4’s, avi files, YouTube, watching adverts on Youtube. Music Videos. Reading opinionated blogs. If you like watching sex toy review videos with music in the background (properly cited no less!!)… pass this on. For let me tell you. When it comes to a government telling you what you should or shouldn’t think, should or shouldn’t watch… You’re an adult for cripes sake! Use your brain!!!!

And now the official note from

Many websites are blacked out today to protest proposed U.S. legislation that threatens internet freedom: the Stop Internet Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). 1. Right on!

  2. Excellent point. For a country that prides itself on freedom it has been spending a lot of time trying to take it away lately.

  3. I noticed all the freshly pressed home page posts are all blacked out with “censorship” written on it.

    • Well… if they follow and do the same thing as they do in China, pages will just refuse to load and you’ll get the “Page not found” but what they’ve done is made it very dramatic to get their point across.

Interesting to see to be honest.

  4. you have to see what I just found and posted on this subject!

  5. Preach it sister. I am with you all the way:)

    • Fantastic-o!!!!

You know it was ridiculously hard to try to be serious. I should get a medal!!! Or treat myself to a new toy.

  6. Woman has managed the best one-paragraph summary of this proposed rape of freedom I have seen anywhere. Not bad for someone that China only sees as a ‘porn writer’.

  7. Excellent piece, Woman! Fight the power!

    • I just get sooooo frustrated. All these negative comments about China and suddenly I hear that they want to BE China!!!! I guess that could be one way to solve the recession.

  8. Very good post (though I take umbridge to the phrase ‘the rest of the world is envious of’. A lot of us do have those same freedoms and rights, we just don’t crow on about it. Damn Yanks), but I do want to point out that it won’t be just those in the US that will be affected. This will harm companies all over the globe. If the US blacklist a site, and that site chooses not to do as they say, then that site will lose its American audience – which makes up for a lot of revenue for many different companies – and in some cases can even be taken down, even though it will have broken none of its own country’s laws.

Indeed, US ambassadors in Spain even threatened to revoke all trade with that country if they didn’t put through a similar law, which they did (Sinde’s Law).

  9. I am on a bit of an anit-American stance at the moment. They managed to coerce our governmant into bringing in a bill that makes my hair stand on end when I think of it. Under the guise of targeting piracy, they go after the little guy (the real pirates are too clever to not find a way around it here), and under this law you are considered guilty until YOU prove your innocence. It goes against everything NZ has stood for. So I loved this post…

    • I’m usually on an anti-American stance. I see so much confusion here because of the American government. My favourite is when people say it s the government of America making all these comments and such, my response is, “Who voted them into office?”. It is sad the level of interference that they have in everyone’s way of life. And if this is what they do in the world, then I say the whole world should be allowed to vote who they want to see as president.

  10. This is going to be an ongoing fight. We defeat them and then they just change the words around and have another go. Eternal vigilance is required, I think.

    • Of course. The oppressed fight and win their freedom then become the oppressors themselves. Imposers get deposed to make way for the new ones, and it is a vicious cycle. What needs to happen is people learn to think for themselves and learn to follow the rules put in place

Sorry, Woman is not available to take your message right now, please leave a comment at the sound of the beep and she'll get back to you lickedly split!!!!! *beep*
